Here’s how to check the installation dates On Mac computers:
Mac OS X 10.7
1. Click on the Macintosh hard drive on the desktop
2. Find the Application folder and open it
3. Scroll Down and open the Utilities folder
4. Click on the console window in the Utilities folder
5. Under Log Files, look in /var/log and click on install.log
6. Scroll to the very top of the list until you see the group of text “Install Mac OS X Lion”
7. The install date is next to the text
Mac OS X 10.6
1. Click on the Macintosh hard drive on the desktop
2. Find the Application folder and open it
3. Scroll Down and open the Utilities folder
4. Click on the console window in the Utilities folder
5. Under Log Files, look in /var/log and click on OSInstall.custom
Note: You can also type vi /var/log/OSInstall.custom in Terminal. Type :q to quit.
